DC I/O Connection Posts Are Not Busbars

Something we see unfortunately often is things other than the batteries connected to the MultiPlus or Quattro DC I/O connection bolts.

Please don't do this.

There are two connection bolts per + and - for the sole purpose of being able to make two runs of wire to the batteries in case it is necessary due to length of circuit and/or wire gauge used. The I/O connection bolts are not a busbar, and nothing other than the battery bank should be connected to them. In this photo, the power supply cables to a VE.Bus Smart Dongle have been connected to the I/O connection bolts, and this is proven to cause errors in a multitude of conditions, besides also negating 2 of the 3 purposes that a VE.Bus Smart Dongle serves.

Please ensure that you always follow the connection instructions for each Victron (or other manufacturer) component you're installing, as that will not only give you better overall system functionality and dependability, but can also dramatically cut down on the time spent in support and troubleshooting!
